YoungConnect (“we”, “us”) is a free, student-led platform that helps students in Grades 6–12 discover scholarships, olympiads, competitions, research programmes, internships and bootcamps. Most of the people we serve are under 18, so we collect as little as we can, use it only to run YoungConnect, and never sell it. This policy explains exactly what that means. Questions: hello@youngconnect.in.
Only what you give us, through these parts of the site:
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and we do not collect location, contacts or device fingerprints.
Most YoungConnect users are school students. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you join the waitlist or create an account; the waitlist asks you to confirm this. A parent or guardian can contact us at any time at hello@youngconnect.in to see, correct or delete their child’s information.
We never show students advertising and never use a student’s data to profile them for anyone else.
We use a small number of service providers, only to run YoungConnect:
When you apply to an opportunity, your application (name, email and message) goes to the organisation that listed it, so they can review it. We don’t sell, rent or trade personal data, and we don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
Our public waitlist counter shows how many students have joined and the first names given by the most recent sign-ups — never email addresses.
We keep your information while YoungConnect needs it for the purposes above — waitlist details until you ask us to remove them or we stop sending launch updates; enquiries for as long as the conversation is useful; account data until you delete your account or ask us to. Then we delete it.
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you updates — and withdraw any consent you gave. Write to hello@youngconnect.in from the email address you used and we’ll respond as quickly as we can. If you are unhappy with our response, you can raise a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database access is restricted by row-level security rules, so a signed-in user can only read what they are allowed to, and administrative access is limited to a short list of named team members. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
If we change how we use your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and tell waitlisted users and account holders about important changes. For anything about privacy, write to hello@youngconnect.in.
